Malwina Witkowska - Holzwege

'Derelict buildings show the absence of its inhabitants. These structures as “fragments of the past”, built and dwelled according to people’s need at the time now abandoned speak of the passing way of life'.
.
Although this photo-narrative is primarily intended to be an architect's trail, based on Adam Sharr’s book “Heidegger for Architects”, they also have outstanding photographic quality. I see the same in this sequence as I see in Guy Tillim's work. There is a remarkably similar style. Both photographer's hold a brilliant use of depth-of-field and colour. Through this they manage to suspend the image's subject and focus in an incredibly delicate manner. They are easy to look at and soft to read.
