Carolyn Drake is a photographer based in Istanbul who specialises in the documentary photography of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. I'd never heard of her before until I stumbled across her on the net, but her photography is nothing short of brilliant. She says it is her aim "to bring greater visibility to little known and overlooked subjects". I've just seen one person's comment on her work where they said she "Brilliantly captures the drabness of life in Ukraine".
