This is one photograph from a series by Swiss photographer Philippe Dudouit. The series documents the PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party), which has been designated as a terrorist organisation by the European Union, United States and Turkey. This image is part of a set, but it is actually extremely powerful by itself. I'm not usually a great fan of single image photography, but strangely I quite like this one by itself. Although I have to admit that the rest of the body of work is pretty strong too. Dudouit provides a useful insight into life on the inside of such an organisation and displays it from a very different perspective to that which we commonly see. The subjects remain human. He has a very simple and classic style. His composition is uncomplicated and the images themselves remain uncluttered. The subject is always clear...
